At RackNerd, we’ve always believed in pushing boundaries, to raise the standard for what web hosting can truly offer. Today, we’re proud to announce a significant leap forward, which is excellent news for both existing and prospective/new shared & reseller hosting customers: the launch of our next-generation shared and reseller hosting platform – now live, and already delivering results.
This new platform represents one of the largest infrastructure investments in our company’s history. Engineered from the ground up, it’s designed to deliver improved consistency, faster speeds, and longer-term reliability — all without any price increases for our customers. All new shared/reseller hosting orders are already being deployed on this upgraded platform, and a phased migration is underway for our existing servers as well.
Where We’re Coming From — And Why This Upgrade Was Needed

To understand just how far we’ve come, it helps to look back at our previous-gen environment. For years, our shared and reseller hosting fleet ran on a powerful mix of Intel-based systems — including Xeon E3’s, E-2146G’s, E-2288G’s, and similar processors. These chips were chosen with purpose: we’ve always prioritized single-threaded performance, because it’s especially critical for PHP-based workloads — which remain at the core of most websites on shared hosting environments today.
That philosophy hasn’t changed – we’ve simply turned up the dial. With the new platform, we’re leaning into that same priority and embracing the next level of performance. AMD’s Ryzen 7950X architecture, with boost clocks reaching an incredible 5.70 GHz per core, allows us to squeeze out even more responsiveness for customer websites, control panels, and applications. It’s a serious step forward — and one you can genuinely feel when using your services.
With this transition, new orders are no longer being provisioned on the older hardware platform. Those systems have been locked from further deployments, as we standardize and commit fully to the next-gen Ryzen-based environment across the board.
Starting today, any new order placed via our website for any shared and reseller hosting plan is already being deployed on our next-generation platform, powered by Ryzen, NVMe, and CloudLinux OS 9! 🙂
More Than Just an OS Upgrade — A Strategic Redesign
The origins of this project go back to a major inflection point in the hosting industry: the upcoming end-of-life of CloudLinux 7, which will officially reach its support cutoff on January 1, 2026. While CloudLinux and cPanel have provided tools like ELevate to facilitate in-place upgrades, the reality is that these upgrades are risky, especially in production environments that have been running stable for years.
As an infrastructure provider, we knew the most responsible and forward-looking approach wasn’t to gamble on in-place upgrades. Instead, we opted for full system replacements and fresh deployments — the gold standard when it comes to avoiding bugs, inconsistencies, and instability.
But rather than limiting this effort to just CL7 systems, we saw a larger opportunity to completely revamp/upgrade our platform — including those nodes already running CloudLinux 8. This allowed us to reimagine everything, from the hardware up to the software stack, resulting in a global platform that’s faster, more secure, and fully standardized.
A Gradual but Strategic Rollout — with Every Location in Mind
As for our existing services: we’re in the middle of a deliberate, phased migration effort. Our end goal is to fully roll out this new platform across every one of our global locations, and we’re prioritizing CloudLinux 7 servers first, to stay ahead of the 2026 EOL deadline.
This is no small undertaking. Our shared/reseller hosting footprint is large — with infrastructure deployed in numerous datacenters worldwide. But migrations are already happening weekly, and we’re working through the queue with precision. Customers will receive advance email notices as their servers come up for migration, and in nearly all cases, we’re able to complete the move with zero downtime. Our certified cPanel administrators are leading the charge with this project, applying meticulous care and quality assurance at each step.
We view this project as a clear demonstration of our ongoing reinvestment into the business — and a testament to our commitment to overdelivering for our customers, even when it requires substantial behind-the-scenes effort.
A Look Under the Hood
The new platform boasts some serious horsepower. Every server runs on AMD Ryzen 7950X processors paired with enterprise-grade NVMe SSD storage. The OS on the next generation platform is standardized to run on CloudLinux 9, paired with LiteSpeed Enterprise to deliver unparalleled performance and security. Additional tools like JetBackup, cpGuard, Softaculous, and SiteJet are still included — combining to form a well-rounded, modern hosting experience.
This platform is standardized globally, meaning whether you’re deploying in Los Angeles, Singapore, Germany, or France, you’ll enjoy the same level of performance and reliability. Consistency has always been key to supporting resellers and developers at scale, and now we’ve raised that bar even higher.
Here’s a look behind the scenes involving what goes behind a deployment like this. These specific photos were taken at our Los Angeles datacenter, though the same setup and approach are being implemented across other locations as well.

The True Cost of Building This Yourself

Trying to replicate this kind of environment on your own would be a costly endeavor. A Ryzen-based dedicated server with NVMe storage would run you between $150 to $200 per month. Add to that the costs for cPanel, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed Enterprise, JetBackup, Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, cpGuard, Softaculous, Mail.Baby, etc., and you’re easily looking at a bill north of $400 per month, and that doesn’t even account for your time managing the server (or hiring a server management firm, etc).
At RackNerd, we’ve bundled all of these elements (features) together into an extremely cost-effective package. Our shared and reseller hosting plans start at just a few dollars per month, and everything is fully managed on the backend (in terms of the server, and all the software licensing). You get the power and performance of an enterprise-grade stack, without the hassle or price tag of doing it yourself.
The level of value we’re delivering here is virtually unheard of in the industry. Seriously — getting access to this kind of performance, software stack, and support for less than the price of a cup of coffee, is something you simply won’t find anywhere else. Trying to build this out yourself would end up costing you hundreds just for the licensing alone, not to mention the hardware and management overhead. At RackNerd, we’ve broken that mold. We’re making enterprise-grade hosting accessible to everyone, without cutting corners, and without hidden fees!
Already Live — And Already Delivering Results
Since going live, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Websites are loading faster. Backend panels are more responsive. Resource contention is not an issue. And for resellers, this translates directly into happier clients and fewer support headaches.
Best of all, every new shared/reseller hosting order is now being provisioned on this next-gen platform by default, across all available locations. As of today, that includes Los Angeles, Germany, France, and Singapore, and we plan on expanding this product line to additional datacenter locations in the near future.
What’s Next?
For those who are already RackNerd shared or reseller hosting customers — just sit tight. We’re actively working through the migration queue, and multiple servers are being upgraded every single week as part of this major rollout. When your specific server is scheduled for its transition to the new platform, you’ll receive an advance email notice with all the relevant details. In most cases, migrations are seamless and require no action on your part. Given the large number of servers we have in production, it is expected that this project will take about 6-9 months before we see its full completion. However, significant progress is being made every single week.
Not yet a customer? Place a new order for any shared or reseller hosting plan, and you’ll be set up on the next-gen platform automatically.
This is only the beginning. More locations, more capacity, and even greater performance gains are just around the corner. Also, we will go over some frequently asked questions below.
